چکیده

Seawater temperature is an extremely important factor as it affects the ecological balance of marines ecosystems, continental weather, and earth's atmosphere. However, pressure on both coastal marine resources, use oceans a wastes deposit, increase urbanization, anthropogenic activities in zones are all causes thermal pollution. The degradation water quality by any process that changes ambient constitutes significant danger many areas world. region Tangier-Ksar Sghir overlooking Mediterranean Sea experiencing growth population increasing urbanization human activities, addition to industrial touristic along coastline. These main sources pollution have effects health environment region. So, very examine seawater order protect from In current study, approach based TIRS band data was used estimate sea surface temperature. results showed good correlation between in-situ measurements estimated values Landsat8 images coastline study area.

Historical Remotely Sensed Sea Surface Temperature Data for Prediction of Coral Bleaching Event in Kish Island, the Persian Gulf

The capability of Degree Heating Weeks index (DHWs) was examined for prediction of bleaching events in the coral reef communities of the Kish Island located in the north of the Persian Gulf. In doing so, weekly Sea Surface Temperature (SST) values (in 1°×1° spatial resolution) prepared by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), coupled with documented bleaching events, such...

Recognizing the eroded areas using the surface albedo algorithm of Landsat 8 satellite imagery (case study of basin Jajrood)

Soil is one of the most important natural resources of any country. the erosion causes not only the depletion of the soil and the loss of the land, causing great and irreparable damages, but also with the deposition of materials in streams, reservoirs, ports, and reduced pool capacity. Therefore, it should not be underestimated. In this study, we identify and zoning of the erosion areas in the ...

Automated Techniques for Quantification of Coastline Change Rates using Landsat Imagery along Caofeidian, China

This paper focuses on automated extraction and monitoring of coastlines by remote sensing techniques using multi-temporal Landsat imagery along Caofeidian, China. Caofeidian, as one of the active economic regions in China, has experienced dramatic change due to enhanced human activities, such as land reclamation. These processes have caused morphological changes of the Caofeidian shoreline. In ...

Georegistration of Remotely Sensed Imagery

DEFINITION Georegistration is the alignment of an unreferenced image with a geodetically (latitude, longitude, and elevation based) calibrated reference image [1]. In general, this process aligns two images (satellite is the most common, but is not limited to satellite images) and correlating the images to a physical location by examining a set of distinguishable points. Figure 1 shows an examp...

Using Maps to Automate the Classification of Remotely-Sensed Imagery

The accurate classification of remotely-sensed imagery usually requires some form of ground truth data. Maps are potentially a valuable source of ground truth but have several problems (e.g., they are usually outdated, features are generalized, and thematic categories in the map often do not correspond to distinct clusters or segments in the imagery). We describe several methods for using maps ...
